FAQ & Policies

What styles/classes does Vancity Yoga offer?

We love variety!

We offer a mix of hot, warm, and cool temperature classes. Current yoga styles include Hatha, Yin, Vinyasa, Power, 26 + 2, Iyengar, etc. We are thrilled to offer a variety of Aerial Yoga styles as well. Our current fitness classes include heated and non-heated Pilates.

You can view our schedule here. We update our schedule seasonally so class offerings are subject to change.

What is aerial yoga?

We’re so glad you asked

Aerial Yoga is taught on a specialty apparatus – the aerial hammock. These classes are designed to promote spinal decompression by using gravity and passive inversions to create joint gapping. Circulation is also increased as we move through inversions and hanging poses that stimulate blood flow. The pretty, beginner-friendly poses are a bonus. Each class ends with a dreamy savasana inside the hammock.

What is your late policy?

Zero tolerance

Please arrive before your class begins with enough time to get ready. Students should be on their mat ready to begin at the class start time.

While we leave it up to the individual teachers to decide if their daily lesson plan could accommodate late entries, our official policy is zero tolerance and the door is sometimes locked before class begins.

What do I need to bring?

Yoga Bag Checklist:
  • Yoga Mat (we have them available to rent for $3 on a first come, first serve basis)
  • Lock (if you want to secure your items during class – no phones in the studios)
  • Water Bottle (we have cups available if you forget along with two water refill stations)
  • Mat Towel (optional if you sweat a lot)
  • Appropriate attire (whatever you can comfortably move your body in)

Can I shower after class?

Of course!

We have private shower stalls in both the women’s and men’s locker rooms, and a private shower in our inclusive bathroom. Showers are equipped with shower gel and hair products. We also have hair dryers available to use. Towels are available complimentary at the front desk.
